Hi there,

We have a client who would like to use this app, but their site login in protected by SSL and the app does not accept https in the url.

Is this likely to be rectified in a future release, if so when, or if not are there any alternative applications that may be more suited to their needs?

Thanks for the feedback, Paul. Moodle 2 has moved on quite a long way since April! We have a more recent article about the Moodle 1.9 restore to Moodle 2.1: http://www.brightcookie.com/2011/07/moodle-2-a-chance-to-clear-the-decks/ It's good to see that this article is generating a bit of conversation about the change to Moodle 2.

Having attended the recent Moodle Moot in Sydney I believe that the issues re backup of 1.9 and restoring to 2.1 as mentioned above has been resolved.
The ability to upload of bulk files does appear to be supported however, as moodle 2.1 now links files to specific activities through repositories and works well with a supporting File Management System such as Equella.

I have switched over from Moodle 1.9 quite easily, but then I just dive into what ever it is and give it a good go, and I must say I’m very impressed with Moodle 2.1 and it the different way it does things, although like anyone who has used Moodle 1.9 there were a few things I want in Moodle 2.1 that I can’t have as they don’t work in 2.1.

But, as it is used each day by my students they have become very used to it very quickly, so no dramas there. As a user of Moodle for 5 years now, it’s a great online tool, one of many I use and one of the most used.
