Training

Here at brightcookie.com we pride ourselves on our world-class LMS hosting, implementation and design for all of our clients and their individual needs.

But what use is the best LMS Hosting without adequate know-how? How efficient could the best software be if our clients didn’t know how to use it?

As part of our service, we provide LMS Training for all of our clients who use Moodle, Ilias and Microsoft SharePoint Learning Kit.

We are aware that there are significant differences between a teacher’s needs and those of an administrator. What if you need LMS Training, but aren’t interested in our Hosting Services?

Brightcookie.com can cater for all of your individual circumstances. If LMS Training is required (for Moodle or other Learning Management Systems), we can provide it to our clients as part of our standard service, or as a stand-alone feature for independent users.

On-site training

Our on-site training sessions cover all of the basics related to effective use and deployment of Moodle and other LMSs in a variety of settings, including distance education, blended learning and instruction, and more.

We offer a second day of LMS on-site training designed to get participants using and working with the LMS as quickly as possible. This time is devoted to rapid course development, pedagogy and implementation strategies, and provides one-on-one attention for each participant as they bring their curriculum and content into Moodle and other LMSs. On-site training can accommodate larger groups with more time for hands-on practice.

How can students and teachers share assignments, multimedia and course documents in a pedagogically sound online environment? Using Moodle, teachers can create and share activities for their students to explore a full 24 hours per day. Moodle provides students and teachers with the opportunity to enjoy the time and space to provide thoughtful and detailed feedback to one another.

Administrator Training (“Train the Trainer”) intensive one-day training course is available for staff who have the responsibility for administering their LMS installation and keeping it going. This is a live course, run at your site, for a maximum of three people (any more and it becomes impossible to cover the topics in the time available). All of the topics covered relate to admin tasks within Moodle itself, such as system variables, initial category and course setup, user administration, the basics of Moodle themes, installation and removal of modules and blocks, and system logging and reporting.  The course does not cover lower-level server administration, such as database and web set-ups. Printed reference material is provided, and the course includes a hands-on element.
